Data Deletion
This page explains how to request deletion of the personal information and account data that PractaPost holds about you — including any data obtained when you connect a social media account (such as Instagram, Facebook, or X) to the PractaPost application. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Who this applies to
PractaPost is a service operated by PractaPost Media, a sole proprietorship registered in Nova Scotia, Canada. This policy applies to two kinds of information:
- Website information — data collected through practapost.com, such as contact-form submissions and research-conversation scheduling.
- Application & connected-account information — data associated with a PractaPost application account, including information obtained through the social media accounts you connect to PractaPost to publish on your behalf, such as Instagram, Facebook, or X (formerly Twitter).
2. What data can be deleted
On request, PractaPost will delete the personal information it holds about you. Depending on how you have used the service, this may include:
- Contact-form submissions and any research-conversation notes (see the Privacy Policy for details on website data)
- Your PractaPost application account details
- Content you have created, scheduled, or published through PractaPost
- Data obtained from connected social accounts (such as Instagram, Facebook, or X), including the access tokens PractaPost stores to publish on your behalf, each connected account's identifier and username, and the basic profile or account information used to operate the connection
3. How to request deletion
You can request deletion in either of the following ways:
- From within PractaPost (recommended). Disconnect the connected social account (Instagram, Facebook, X, or another connected platform) in your PractaPost account settings, and/or delete your PractaPost account. Disconnecting an account revokes and removes the access tokens PractaPost holds for it.
- By email or the contact form. Send a deletion request through the contact form on the PractaPost homepage, using the email address associated with your account. Please include your name, your account email, and — if you want data tied to a connected social account removed — the social account or accounts in question.
Revoking access on the platform directly
You can also remove PractaPost's access from the social platform's own settings: on Facebook or Instagram under Settings → Apps and Websites, and on X under Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions. Doing this stops PractaPost from accessing that account going forward. To also have data already stored by PractaPost erased, please submit a deletion request using one of the methods above.
4. What happens when you disconnect a connected account
When you disconnect a social account (such as Instagram, Facebook, or X) from PractaPost, or delete your PractaPost account:
- The stored access tokens for that account are revoked and deleted
- PractaPost stops accessing the account and stops publishing on its behalf
- Personal information associated with the connection is deleted in accordance with the timeline below
5. Timeline
We will acknowledge your request promptly and complete the deletion within 30 days, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). In limited cases we may need to retain certain information where required to do so by law; if that applies to your request, we will tell you what is retained and why.
6. Contact
Deletion requests and any questions about how your information is handled can be submitted through the contact form on the PractaPost homepage, or by mail to:
